As a dancer and as a teacher of mindful movements, I love to move in different ways. Every movement that my body creates in a relaxed and focused state of mind, brings me in the moment of life and breath. With careful attention within, I‘m still gaining skills to move, to be and to teach. But what is the best way to guide people into these experiences, to share and to help others?
From day one, the Yoga Teacher’s Training Course (TTC) was not about performing moves, or about stretching muscles in all kind of ways. It was all about ‘connecting’. Connecting with people, working together, teaching each other, listening and sharing, examining my potential, being silent, observing, knowing who am I, knowing my intention, what do I want to focus on and being aware of the processes of my physical, pranic and mental forces.
I loved the way Yogalife organized the program, the clarity of the manual, the way they handle feedback of their own skills and personal way of teaching by asking questions. This TTC taught us to incorporate the philosophy of yoga into the day. Even when we had to get up very early, even when I was lying in bed with fever, even when we had to force ourselves again and again in the same posture or stay in it while observing our mind and body.
This TTC taughtand stimulated us to move, adjust, handle, act and experience the whole program and the yoga philosophy. Not only words of knowledge but really being into it. It kept us into the world and down to earth.
After this program, I felt full of vitality, strength, creative, balanced and joyful and I admit that the whole period was a lot more intense than I expected it to be. But when I overviewed the whole part, it was a beautiful body mind experience. I learned, felt, cried, hugged, laughed and of course sweat a lot. It feels like a very effective program to reach your true potential and touch your soul. I feel (much) more complete and confident. I am very glad to share that the same team of Indian Yoga teachers from Yogalife joining hands with Shambho to reach lots of aspiring teachers and students of yoga in Belgium. This same program is being implemented and recreated with Shambho from this November.
With love and respect for my teachers Sanjeev, Poonam and Savira and to all my fellow students.
Thank you!
